December Daily 4

See here for the original December Daily post

I wanted to post yesterday but I didn't get any computer privileges. The boy had lots of homework to do on the computer. I keep trying to tell the hubs that a laptop would be so handy............

Anyhow, I almost got caught up on my album. I got all the way to day 9. BUT, I'm not going to show you them all today. Now don't be like that. Its just that I have so much to show you today.

Check this out:

Classic Christmas, Letterpress numbers (retired) and Typeset alpha (retired). Real red, kraft and whisper white cardstock. Whisper white, real red, old olive and versamark inks. 2 way glue pen, dazzling diamonds, fire rhinestone brads, flower filigre brads, real red satin ribbon (new), scallop trim border punch (new), top note die, 1" circle and 1 1/4" circle punches, wide oval punch, silver embossing powder and of course dimensionals.

This is just a pouch/envelope to put my love notes into. Every Christmas Santa writes a note to each kid telling them how great they are doing and stuff, and I put it in their stocking. Well this year the cat, or should I say, Santa, is out of the bag.

Grace has been hinting around for the past few months that we are Santa. She flat out asked me last week if we were and so I figured if she is old enough to just come out and ask then she is old enough to know. She is 9. I think the other 2 were about the same age when they found out.

So this year I will write their little notes and put them in their stockings but I'll also make a copy to put in the album.

See that Real Red Satin Ribbon? There is a whole slew of satin ribbons in the Occasions Mini Catalog that starts Jan. 5. I have directions on how to make this cute little die cut using the Top Note Die for you. Just wait.
First check out my faux stitching.

Groovy huh? I used white ink and a tracing wheel. See that scallop at the top of the envelope? That is a new punch that you can get for FREE during Sale-A-Bration. Isn't it cute? There is a corner punch that matches it too.

Heres where I will write their love notes.

The whole pouch/envelope measures 4 1/2"x 7". The cards are 3 1/2" x 7 1/2".

Okay, you ready to see how to make this cute little tag? I saw this on someones blog last week and now can't find it. If you know whose blog it is please let me know so I can link them up. Anyway, I just thought this was genius.

Take a scrap of paper and gently fold it. Got it? Don't use your scoring blade or bone folder. We want that fold to disappear later.

Wow, look at that finger! It looks like alien hands!

Now, I realize you can't see the outline of the Top Note but you all know what it looks like right? Put the paper at the bottom of the die. The folded part is inside the die. Depending on how high you put the fold will depend on how big the tag will come out.

See? Cool huh?

Now we want to try and get that fold out. On the blog where I found this, the lady sprayed the cardstock with alcohol. I didn't have any so I very lightly sprayed it with water. Then you lay it in the middle of the die and run it through the machine again.

See the fold is gone! Well almost gone. I layed the satin ribbon across the fold to hide it. I used this little shape on another page and you can't see the fold hardly at all.
I just thought this was the neatest idea! I try to be very frugal with my stamping money and so don't own everything in the catalogs. So I was very happy to see another way to get a cute die out of one I already own.
Okay, I will post all the other days tomorrow. I'm so sorry to be going out of order. Next year remember; ink for the printer and enough cardstock to keep going.

Thanks for stopping by.
Blessings, b.

busy day

today was kinda busy. I did get some ink for the printer but just didn't get any time to print anything. I'm getting further and further behind and I don't like that.

But, I didn't want to leave you here all alone, so here is a pretty Christmas card for you.

Sincere Salutations stamp. Real red ink. Very vanilla, real red and Merry Moments DSP. Vanilla taffeta ribbon, hemp, misc. button, scallop edge punch and dimensionals.

Such an easy card. You could easily whip out 25 of these in no time. I have my Christmas card laid out in my head but it requires a family pic. Hopefully we'll get around to that this weekend. There are alot of things to get around to this weekend. Just add it to the list.

In other news, I got my SAB and Occasions mini catalog preorder tonight. Oh baby!!! there is some cool stuff coming your way. New punches, new papers and dare I say...............unmounted stamps? Oh baby!!! Sad thing though, I didn't get to play with any of it. Hopefully tomorrow. My red and green paper did come so I can get crackin' on the album.

I'm off to bed. Busy days kinda take it outta me. Thanks for stopping by.

Blessings, b.

December Daily 3

see here for the original December Daily post

Sorry about going backwards and forwards here. I didn't get my ink cartridge refilled yet so I don't have days 6 or 7 for you today. I tried printing the pics but they look horrible.

But I did get day 3 done. Yipee for me!!

Snowflake from Season of Friendship and number from classic numbers (retired). Whisper white craft and real red classic ink. 1" and 1 1/4" circle punches, 2 way glue pen, dazzling diamonds, white gel pen (that didn't want to work) and dimensionals.

grrrr.........I couldn't get the gel pen to cooperate too well. The glitter didn't want to be photographed, but its there on the snowflakes. It looks great too. Glitter is so camera shy.

Fieldtrips are so fun! The kids at my school don't get fieldtrips. But thats a whole other story. '

Anyhow, she got to go to the high school and watch Frosty! They had a great time. I know you people that had to ride the bus everyday to school don't see the excitement in this, but she was so excited to ride the bus!

I think Frosty needs a new paint job on his sign there. He's lookin' a little dirty.

I'll be stopping by the store on my way home from work and get some ink and get busy tomorrow. I have alot of catching up to do. Thanks for stopping by.

Link up your projects in the comments section if you're following along so we can all see.

December Daily ......5?

see the original December Daily post here

I know, I know, I know what you're thinking, "um.....Beth? What happened to day 3 and 4?"

Well, I have no excuse for day 3. The pics are printed but I got distracted by day 5. And day 4 needs red cardstock and it is coming either tomorrow or Wed. And now I need to buy color ink for the printer. So yeah.............. we'll see how things move along here.

Lookee, you'll see why day 5 was so exciting..........

Schoolbook Serif alpha and Headline numbers (retired). Old olive ink. Whisper white, kraft and real red cardstock. Wide oval punch and dimensionals.

I GOT A NEW WASHER AND DRYER!!! That is cause for celebration! I really did love my old set but the washer started to put holes in our clothes and the dryer made everything smell like my uncle's garage. YUCK!!

We got a great "day after Thanksgiving day sale" price on this set. Talk about new age. This washer is weird. BUT, seems to keep our clothes intact and they don't smell bad now.

I don't own the "This Way" punch so I freehanded some really ugly arrows. Gets my message across though. Remember, you don't have to love every page. The 5 is kinda funky up there but I accidently stamped a 3. See, I was thinking about doing day 3 but things got away from me. So anyway, I don't love this page.

Tomorrow, I hope to be back on track. Thanks for stopping by.

December Daily 2

See here for the original December Daily post.

Geez.... I finally got the computer to myself.

Welcome to another installment of the December Daily. Again, not a very exciting day but its a day in our life nontheless. November is a busy/exciting month for us. Maybe I should do a November Daily instead...............

Typeset alpha (retired), classic numbers (retired), snowman from a year 2000 hostess set and snowflake from Season of Friendship. Kraft, old olive and watercolor cardstock. Black Stazon, basic grey, more mustard, creamy caramel, pumpkin pie, real red, old olive and going gray classic inks. Aquapainter and dimensionals.

Anyhow, nothing happened this day. So I thought this would be a good day to highlight the Advent Calendar. My kids love the Advent Calendar. Nothing like a little chocolate to brighten your day. They are actually very good about taking turns. Imagine that!

This is the only snowman stamp I own. I got him as my hostess set with my very first Stampin' Up! party in 2001.

We have exciting things happening here this weekend. I'll tell you all about it on Monday. Also, if you happen to be following along with me with your own December Daily then please link it up here in the comments so we can all see it. Remember, you don't have to do the whole month. Just do a week. You won't regret it.

Thanks for stopping by.

December Daily

Again.............. I'm late

15 has been hogging the computer this week with homework. I guess thats more important right?

So here is Dec. 1st.

Okay, so it wasn't such an interesting day. But that is part of the beauty of this project. Not everyday is going to set the world on fire. AND, you don't have to love every page you make. Its only a small part of the whole project and the project as a whole, you will love. Promise.

Typeset Alpha (retired), Classic numbers (retired) and heart from Cheep Talk. Whisper white and real red cardstock. Real Red ink. Circle scissor, lid from the Stampin' Mist bottle for the little circle around the 1, and black journaler and of course dimensionals.

The journaling sounds like I only bought 2 things for $175. But if you look real close, I made a pocket out of the pic and slipped the shopping list behind there. So why would I want to include the list? Because my mother had included shopping lists/receipts in both her wedding album (first shopping list as a married woman) and a shopping list for baby stuff for me and I find them interesting.
This shopping list is totally boring (mostly bathroom stuff) but hey, that is part of my life too.
Just keeping it real here.
Okay, I will be back tomorrow with Dec.2nd. She won't do homework on a Friday :)
Thanks for stopping by.

Wednesday, December 2, 2009

I'm late, I'm late..........

for a very important date.

I wanted to post this last night but I ended up with a migraine. So I was down for the count last night. I'm feeling much better this morning, thanks for asking.

The card I wanted to post I can't find. I guess I haven't taken a pic yet. So I'll show you last years Christmas card instead.

Christmas Classics and Wonderful Words sets, I don't remember where the snowflake came from. Soft sky, whisper white, old olive and kraft cardstock. White craft ink and Sahara Sand ink. 2 way glue, dazzling diamonds and white embossing powder.

These were really fairly easy to mass produce. And fun! Glitter was everywhere. You can't really see in the pic but I used the 2 way glue to add glitter to the tree, snowflakes and the snow hills.

Then I was thinking, "hey, I could make a box with this layout!" So I did. I like boxes.

This was just a simple box. I think it was 4" square and 2"tall. Add 1/8" to the lid measurements and there ya go. I'll see if I can get a pattern together for you.
I scalloped the edges to make it extra purty.

Add some chocolate and a gift card and you're set to go.
Okay, I gotta go get ready for work. I'll have my first December Daily for you tonight.......hopefully.
Thanks for stopping by.
Blessings, b.
