watercolor blossoms

Happy Friday!  I've got a special weekend planned and I can't wait for it to start.  I have to go to work first though :(  But it is payday :)

Remember a few weeks ago when I was trying to get thank you cards made?  Well, I actually did and got them mailed out.  I just forgot to show you. 

Ready to see?

Blooming with Kindness and A Word for You sets.  Crumb cake, naturals white and watercolor paper.  Black Stazon and crumb cake inks, rose red, more mustard and always artichoke watercolor crayons.  Baja breeze seam binding, linen thread, big shot, window frames framelits, vintage wallpaper embossing folder and dimensionals.

I love how these turned out.  I guess they were worth the wait, eh?  I hope my friends think so anyway.

 

I colored directly onto the stamp then misted with water.  I used the rose red crayon first on the whole bloom.  Then layered more mustard and colored the stem.  Then sprayed with water and let it sit for a few seconds so the colors would mix a little.  Then stamped on the watercolor paper. 

I love how each one came out slightly different. 

For the bow, I took a length of ribbon and tied a knot in the middle.  Then punched a 1/8 hole right on the stem and threaded my ribbon through.  So the knot stayed in the back.  This bow isn't going anywhere! 

Of course I ran out of the baja breeze seam binding and so I used some of the rose red seam binding (I LOVE the seam binding).  I'm not sure which color I like better. 


Okay, one last one. 

This uses all the same supplies but with a strip of embossed Baja Breeze cardstock. 

So there ya go.  Get out your crayons and give them some love.

catching up.....

I can't believe a week has gone by already since I've been on here!  Children  have been hogging the computer with homework again.  Darn kids!  And I've been so pooped at night that I'm just too tired.  Last week was so crazy busy that I've been doing a bunch of catching up on everything.  Laundry, grocery shopping, bills, cleaning, and TAXES.  UGH!!  I can honestly say that I hate doing taxes.  Not that our taxes are super hard or anything, its just........taxes.....ugh.

But, I do have some stamping goodness to show you.  About a month ago I had actually stamped quite a bit.  I just never showed you all of them. 

I think this was the January issue.  Everything was white on white with splashes of color.  So I thought I'd give it a try. 

No stamps!  Whisper white cardstock.  No ink!  Vintage wallpaper embossing folder, Fun Flowers die, big shot, neutrals buttons, pear pizzaz seam binding, embroidery floss and dimensionals. 

This was so easy to make!  I wasn't sure I would like it, the white on white deal, but I do.  I think it would make a nice wedding card.

You can see that it sticks out from the base but not enough that it would need extra postage.  At least I don't think so.  I didn't mail it to anyone. 

I thought the green ribbon would kinda look like leaves.  I love this pear pizzaz color, its so juicy looking. 

So, I'm all ready for someone to get married.  Anyone?



Alrighty then, let me show you a little of what has been sucking all my time and energy the last few weeks. 

Odyssey of the Mind. 

We started it in October and it has been alot of fun.  Well, until crunch time came.  Then me and the only other mom that helped out were dog tired.  Trying to get 7 little girls on the same page with you is like trying to wrangle kittens. 

Last weekend we had our competition in Palm Springs.  It was the regional competition and there were several schools there.  Several teams from several schools. 

Our theme was Full Circle and we had to put on a play.  It was a great play except.............the key part of it........got forgotten in the hallway and so we didn't solve our problem.  Oh well.  

We learned alot and I told her if she wanted to do it next year that I would know better how to help out.  The other mom and I were like the blind leading the deaf. 

All in all, the girls had a super fun time.  I so enjoyed being a part of something she'll remember for a long time.  I have lots of great pics to scrapbook.  We still have an ice cream party next week with a slide show.  She is so excited. 

Okie dokie.  Thats it for tonight.  They keep looking at me and asking what I'm making for dessert.  Do I look like Betty Crocker?

hello?.......hello?.......

are you still there?  So sorry for the absence.  Between the tension headaches and kids using the computer, I haven't been posting or stamping. 

But, I have to say that I got such warm fuzzies when I looked at the blog stats today.  Even though I haven't been around this week, you guys keep checking in.  I can't tell you how much that means to me.  Thank you so much for your patience.  You guys rock!

I am having a smallish card class on October 2nd, World Card Making Day.  We are going to make 5 cards and I've been thinking of what we will be making.  Today I finally got to sit down and play with all those new goodies. 

Here is one I think we'll be doing. 

Elements of Style and A Word for You sets.  Crumb cake, basic black and pure poppy cardstock.  Crumb cake and black Stazon inks.  Beautiful butterflies die, big shot, vintage embossing folder, double ribbon punch, cropodile, hemp, scallop edge punch, Newsprint DSP, rhinestones, corner rounder punch and dimensionals. 

I love how that butterfly just POPS off the card.  I knew I wanted to use a tag.  They seem to be popular right now.  And you know me, I'm like so hip with the current trends.........NOT!  I originally had out different stamps and colors but they just weren't working for me. 

So back to the old stand by.  Crumb Cake.......I love you.

*Double ribbon punch.  I love it!  I thought it might be hard to use because of so many little pieces but it was easy. 

*Beautiful Butterflies die.  I'm so behind the times, I know.  But hey, I got there didn't I?  Love that Poppy Parade color. 

*Vintage embossing folder on the butterfly.  So pretty! 

*New sticky Rhinestones!  I'm really not a bling kind of girl, I don't do much jewerly or dressing up or anything.  But they are so affordable now and they stick really good.  Very excellent for seeing how you would look with your nose pierced.  Not that I tried that or anything.........

NOW THATS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!

I finally am seeing the fruits of my labor.  I've pulled 2 more zucchini and 2 more yellow squash since this pic was taken.  They are delicious too.  I also have at least 4 tomatoes growing and the bell peppers are going like crazy.  Finally the cucumbers are growing little babies.  Maybe I was expecting too much too early. 

I'm getting ready to pull the strawberries out and plant broccoli and carrots.  Once the tomato dies off I'll be planting onions.  I've learned so much this summer that I hope next summer things really start with a bang.
