counting down

Howdy folks!

Its Tuesday and the countdown is on!  3 days of school/work left.  The older kids are ready (hopefully) for their finals and Grace is just playing the rest of the week.

Me, on the other hand, am having another stressful week.  The tension headaches have made a comeback so I finally broke down and took some muscle relaxers again.  They are so awesome, but they leave me just a little foggy during the day.  I don't like that.  But I feel so much better today.

So I actually finished a card I started last week. Wanna see?

Eastern Blooms and Well Scripted (occasions mini).  Melon Mambo, old olive and watercolor cardstock.  Rose red, summer sun, old olive and black Stazon inks.  Corner rounder, water mister, 2 way glue pen, dazzling diamons glitter and crushed curry polka dot ribbon.

Pretty huh?  Its a 4 1/4" square.  I cut the front back 1/4" so the scallops would be the bottom of the front.  When the card is closed you can see a nice pink border on the bottom.  A picture would have been good at explaining that huh?  Yeah well, I come up with good ideas after the fact.

One of our friends' daughter is graduating high school.  Why do a congratulations card in the school colors?  Usually I do, but I've been on a watercolor kick lately.  And flowers just don't come naturally in black and gold.  I got the inspiration for this card from Heather Nichols.  I need all the inspiration I can get.

Can you see the glitter?  It is so pretty in real life.  I stamped the flowers with Classic ink and then sprayed the heck out of it with water.  After it dried I stamped the congratulations in the Stazon.  There is no reason to stamp with Stazon other than that is the black I use all the time.

The crushed curry ribbon matched so well.  Its a color that is retiring so I was glad of the opportunity to use some of it up.  The glitter just finishes it off perfectly.

Okay, I can't let you leave without a little garden update now can I?

I just lost half of you didn't I?  Hello?........hello?

Our first strawberry.

The first thing we've eaten out of the garden.  It was delicious too.  Of course things taste better when your hard work went into creating it.

Alrighty then.  I'm taking my drugs and going to bed.  Thanks for stopping by and hanging with me.

Blessings, b.
