back to our regularly scheduled programming.......kinda

WHOA!!! trying to get back into a stamping groove was/is a whole lot harder than I would like. It took me hours just to get this card done today. Of course I had the usual kid interruptions.

What do you think?

Wonderful Favorites set. Bashful Blue and choc. chip inks. Bashful blue, barely banana, kraft and whisper white cardstock. Stampamajig, scallop trim border punch, Perfect polka dots impressions folder, big shot, blue gingham (retired), misc. brown button, linen thread and dimensionals.

Cute eh? We are celebrating Christmas with my inlaws on Sunday and (procrastination is my middle name), I had intended to make my MIL a set of cards.

Every time we visit she always sends us a Thank you or thinking of you card later on. We are opposites in that, I make cards but never send them, she sends cards but never makes them. So I wanted to make her a bunch for her card sending needs. And I'll feel better knowing that my cards are doing something worthwhile instead of hanging around here looking cute.

Not that that is a bad thing. I do it all the time.

I wanted them to be simple enough to mass produce and simple enough that she won't have to pay extra postage. So I had an idea in mind and went with it, but my cuts were off and I rearranged it so many times that it looked like it had been through the wringer.

So I went online to look at some blogs that I haven't visited in a few weeks and saw this:

and I thought, "huh, those colors would look nice with my design idea. So I tried it. Now, I've told you before that I love Dawn McVey's stuff but I've never participated in one of her challenges. Thanks Dawn.

The other thing I wanted to show you was this new Impressions folder thingy. I've never tried one before, but since they retired my polka dot background (I'll need therapy) I got this. Pretty groovy for my first try. "Look Ma, its so easy, even Beth can do it!"

It was pretty cheap too. Let me see how much it was, hold on..............................$7.95. It's in the new Occasions Mini Catalog. I'll put together a little pictorial on how to use it and you can see how easy it is too! But after I get mom's stuff done.

I have so much other stuff to tell you about our trip and the Dec. Daily and all but I just now downloaded our pics. So I still gotta go through all that.

I hope you're staying dry and warm wherever you are. Not to make you feel bad but its been in the high 70's here. Nothing like Christmas in So. Cal.

Thanks for stopping by. Still no jury duty tomorrow so I hope to have more new stuff to show you.

Blessings, b.

Love your embossing, so cute! And I'm digging in the gingham ribbon - I'm not normally a fan, but you make it so cute on your card. Way to inspire me!!
